The Texas Rangers could not have had much worse of a Game 1 against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Jays crushed the Rangers 10-1 to take a 1-0 series lead in the ALDS. It wasn’t pretty for Cole Hamels, who has had a rough go of it in the last month.
The Blue Jays now have taken home field away from the Rangers. Winning in Toronto is going to be essential for the Rangers to win this series.
“What we really wonder composure wise if you follow this Rangers team, is going to play in Toronto, because they have quite a scene up there,” said 1310 The Ticket in Dallas host Bob Sturm on CBS Sports Radio’s Ferrall On The Bench. “The Rangers cracked under all that noise last year in Game 5 with that ridiculous 7th inning. You can’t go down 0-2 going back to Toronto.”
In other news in Dallas, the Cowboys may soon have themselves a bit of a quarterback controversy when the end of October arrives. Dak Prescott has been great through the first four games, but this is Tony Romo’s team.
“There’s no doubt that Tony Romo has been a hot topic for about a decade,” said Sturm. “Half the city loves the guy and the other half wants to see a little something before they put him up with the city’s other heroes. We’re talking wins in January and maybe the big one in February. He’s been a divisive sports figure in this city for a long time. Every time he can’t play, the guy that replaces him is flat out awful.
“That’s a really difficult cap situation. The Cowboys might actually move on from Romo next March. I think it’s a real possibility. The public is ok with that going in. It’s not everybody.”
